husband unemployed took money without me telling?

9

I am a college student and my husband is significantly older than I. He has been unemployed for 7 months now and really did not look for a new job until a month ago. Today I found out that he took $1,000 from my checking account without telling me. I understand that we have each other’s names on the account, but I cannot understand that he would take money from me without telling me FIRST. I make only $10,000 per year and was saving money for relocation. should i tell him i noticed that money is missing from my account?

is not your money anymore… it belongs to both. So its his money too… he can do whatever he wants. Say hello to marriage at an early age… you are getting hit with reality.

of course and if you leave his name on the acct he will do it until its all gone, besides that you have the right to know where it all went and proof

YES, tell him! And take the rest of your money OUT of any joint account, and put it in an account that he has no access to.

It’s always wise to keep some money joint, but most of your money separate, IMO. That way you don’t need to deal with a situation such as you’ve just described.

Don’t delay tell him now money is missing. Also i would not have a joint account anymore with him.

HELL YES! That’s not ok at all. What else is he doing? Where did he spend the dough? Sounds pretty shady to me….

dont say anything, just move to another account to which he will have no access.
