If you don’t have a Paypal account, then how could you possibly have unclaimed money in your account?

sounds like a scam..never give bank account info on the internet. I got something similar from Ebay. I never bought or sold anything from them and they kept emailing me to give them my primary bank account. Scammers have a way of making things look legitimate. Easy to copy legal stuff.

Go to http://www.paypal.com. If you pay through PayPal, you have a PayPal account, even if it’s passed through a credit or debit card.

If you know for a fact that you never opened a PayPal account then you’re not paying through PayPal and the e-mail is a scam or phishing attempt.

Very common scam. In fact don’t trust Pay Pal with your credit card and don’t use a credit card on E-Bay. E-mails purported to be from Pay Pal or E-Bay and come to you out of the blue, are sent by folks trying to get your password and any other information (even credit card number) they can. I used Pay Pal and had my Discover Card registered with them. Someone got into my account. The reason I know is that Pay Pal sent me an e-mail thanking me for changing my e-mail address. That new e-mail address was definitely not mine. I immediately called Discover, canceled the card, and e-mailed Pay Pal several times and to this day got no response. Since then I have received e-mails from E-Bay saying that someone has a question about products I am selling and I should log in and answer. I don’t have any products on E-Bay. For these reasons I don’t trust Pay Pal or E-Bay. If I would buy from E-Bay it would be by money order and never more by credit card.
